This impressive formwork block is the brainchild of Gabriel Lakatos who was enamored with interlocking and construction games as a child. Fast-forward to 2018, and Lakatos was so inspired that he patented a wooden home kit with the goal of simplifying construction and offering an easy and efficient self-build project. For 25 years, Lakatos worked in the field of traditional construction, yet his passion was reignited when he developed the Gablok. While the Gablok concept is based on its insulated blocks, it’s accompanied by a customized floor system, insulated beams, and lintels that allow for the construction of the exterior and interior walls.
